He has been coaching both the Valley Splash team and the Valley Christian Varsity swim team for four years in addition to his numerous years teaching lessons through the Swim America program.  As a swimmer, Kevin began his career at the age of eight with DeAnza Cupertino Aquatics (DACA).  At fourteen years old, he qualified for the Western Zone All-Star team; a meet in which his relay broke a Pacific All-Star Record that still stands today. As an age group swimmer, he won several events at the Junior Olympic and Far Western Meets, including achieving the Far Western High Point Award for his age group. He has been ranked in the National Top 16 in numerous events including backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, Individual Medley and relays. During his four years as a high school swimmer at Valley Christian, he earned fourteen All-American titles, placed in the Top 3 at CCS in individual events and relays over ten times, and set seven team records. Kevin also achieved time standards to compete in the US Open, Junior National, Short Course National and National Grand Prix meets. Some of his most memorable experiences come from these meets where he was able to swim head to head with his swimming idols: Aaron Piersol, Brendan Hansen, Jason Lezak and Michael Phelps. In 2008, Kevin earned a scholarship to swim at the University of California, Davis, where he trained with elite level athletes like teammate Scott Weltz (2012 Olympic Trials Champion and fifth place at the London Olympic Games in the 200 breaststroke).
