What is SwimAmerica?
SwimAmerica is a national learn to swim program operated by the American Swimming Coaches
Association through over 500 Program Directors at over 900 sites across the USA. It is the state of the art
learning to swim program in the world today. Brought to you by the same people who have brought you the most
successful sport team on the planet…the USA Olympic Swimming Team. What we learn teaching people to set
world records, we use to teach new swimmers to enjoy swimming with the best techniques in the world … just
like the development of great cars and trucks from the NASCAR and INDY car races. We learn from and teach
the elite athlete AND the new child!
What about the cost of SwimAmerica swim lessons?
You will find SwimAmerica swim lessons are priced comparable to other outstanding children’s
lessons in your area. Swimming lessons are the most important lessons purchase you will ever make for
you child. Group lessons are $75 for FIVE 30-minute sessions per one week. Private lessons are $150 for one week. Adult lessons are $85 per week. We offer a limited number of scholarships based on need. Sign ups will be during office hours, daily from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm during the summer.
What can my child expect the first day of SwimAmerica swim lessons?
At SwimAmerica you will find our swim coaches take a caring approach to teaching children to swim.
Coaches are trained to help reluctant children to learn and adapt to a swim environment. SwimAmerica teaches
much more than just how to swim. We emphasize proper techniques of swimming and give special care to correct
breathing, body position, and good swimming strokes. The program teaches all four strokes, starts and turns, and
is excellent preparation for swimmers that would like to join Valley Splash Swim Team.
What will your child have to bring to class?
Swimsuit, towel, swimcap for girls, and goggles are helpful. For Stroke School, proper fitting goggles are
required.
