National Group Coach

The 2024-2025 Season will be Coach Kevin’s 12th year as Head Coach and 15th year at Valley Splash. In the last 12 years a total of 270+ team records were broken, Splash has won the DII Zone championships twice! Last season, we placed 2nd in Division 1. Valley Splash has also won the End of Summer Team Championships back to back in 2016 & 2017. Kevin has coached Far Western Champions, Junior Olympic Champions, Future's Qualifiers, Junior National Qualifiers, and several High School All-American’s. Coach Kevin holds an American Swimming Coach’s Association Level 3 Certification.

Kevin did most of his growing up here in the Bay Area. Swimming at DACA for nearly a decade, he was too once a Far Western High Point Champion, Pacific Swim Record Holder, and top 16 National Qualifier. Coach Kevin also qualified and swam at the Jr. National and US Open Championships before going on to swim at UC Davis. Through his swimming years, he qualified as a National All-American 13 different times. Some of his best experiences were competing in the lane right next to World Record Holder and Olympic Gold Medalist (at the time) Aaron Piersol and a few races against a swimmer known as Michael Phelps.

Coach Kevin still swims every day, trying new skills before teaching them to the swimmers. He constantly researches the sport and attends stroke clinics to get the most up to date technique and training trends. Kevin was recently part of a presentation at the 2015 ASCA World Clinic in Clevelend, Ohio with Coach Cathy Manthey. Coach Kevin is excited to pass on his passion and knowledge for swimming to the next generation of Bay Area swimmers.

Kyle Edgar Age Group Coach
I have been swimming for 12 years since I was 7 years old.  I swam Varsity for all 4 years of high school at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA. In that time period at Live Oak I began swimming the 500 free and got first place in BVAL in the 100 fly. I currently swim at De Anza College where I finished 3rd place in the 1650 freestyle at our last conference championships and our team finished 2nd place. I still love swimming as much as I used to as a child and I am excited to share that with everyone else. I have a strong passion in teaching fundamentals to create a strong foundation for all young athletes. Learning the right technique at an early age is the key to make swimming a life-time sport.

Coach Kyle is also our Head Supervisor for our SwimAmerica swim lesson program and has a true passion for introducing swimming to the lives of many children!
